Free Museum Days in Every State

Many museums set aside free admission days each month, and some library systems even lend museum passes like books.

Where to look

• Check your museum's own calendar for "free days" or "community days."
• Ask your local library if they offer a museum pass lending program.
• Some employers and credit unions offer members-only free museum days.

Making the most of a visit

• Arrive at opening to beat the crowds.
• Pick two or three exhibits to focus on rather than trying to see everything.
